Bill Bruford is the Progressive Rock Keystone. If he were
removed from history, Prog Rock would cease to exist, and
music critics would have nothing to really complain about.
He played for Genesis after having lost a bet with Tony Banks
over whether Tony could eat 100 jelly donuts in under one
minute, while on stage. Asked about his tenure with the band,
Bruford commented that "It was the only band that I agreed
to play in where I played in 4/4 time but still had to stay
at a pretty crappy hotel."
