29 December 2002 (updated 30 December) - All new boots have been put up on the site--I had to reburn three of them due to various problems, upgrades, etc., but it's all up there now. The only thing is that I was dumb enough to think I could watch a video that has PAL video format--as the video I mentioned on the below entry is. Being in the US, my VCR uses NTSC video format, so when I play the tape all I see is a rolling black screen with tiny white bits moving on it. No sound. I could send the tape to a video service that would transfer the tape for me, but this would cost money--we'll see if I ever feel like doing that. I have received what I thought would be one Peter Gabriel. Instead in the package I found the following:

Peter Gabriel: Paris 2002 (2 discs), 21 September 2002, Theatre De La Mutualite, Paris
Peter Gabriel: PGWeed01: Ahoy Sportpaleis, Rotterdam 7 September 1977 (1 disc) (from his first tour!)
Phil Collins: NYC 2002 (1 disc) (Nov 12, 2002 (Premier Radio Network - NYC, New York))
Peter Gabriel: For Your Eyes and Ears, April 24, 1993 (Le Zenith - Paris, France) (2 discs)
Peter Gabriel: Mercy Street, 15 October 1987, Lycavitos - Athens, Greece (according to Simon, though the artwork says USA; a soundboard!) (1 disc)
Peter Gabriel: Goodbye USA, 16/12/86, LA Forum (this last is one I've had for a while, but I just thought it would be nice to list all of my Pete stuff together here--also it so happens that this show is probably unknown to most traders and it's possible that only one other person, the recorder, has it right now) (2 discs)

So, quite a windfall in the solo member dept, esp. Pete! This may even inspire me to create a solo member page to this site--however, this would require a lot of work on my part, and I'm just not up to it at the moment. I may just make a very simple page that simply lists these shows.

24 December 2002 - Happy Holidays to all! Here are some of my presents:

-Roxy 17 December '73 (which will unfortunately require a re-send, as disc 1 was cracked all the way through--victim of careless postal officers, I fear)
-Hogweed 10
-Seven Stones in Genoa (with "The Knife")
-21/11/81 Soundboard show
-Southampton '77 (to be weeded, once I listen to it)
-Toronto '76 (the other show from '76 I was waiting for, which I thought was going to be from 14 April, turns out that it was a show I already have, so you can scratch that one off my list of waiting-fors)
-A Video of various interesting video clips: a couple from '78, something from '80 which is NOT Lyceum or Drury Lane, and other stuff that I think I already have.

I have various obligations to fulfill in regards to these shows, but I may be a while longer than usual due to its being the holiday season. I apologize to anyone who may be waiting on them, but I'm just too busy and family has to take a priority over this. Still waiting on:

-A new Peter Gabriel show, I'm not sure which but it's sure to sound gooooood. This, like the other PG show I have, will probably not be going up on my list, as it is not Genesis and that's what I'm sticking to on this site (with only a few exceptions).
-Hornet Field '92 (in just a couple of weeks, I might hear something about this one)
-Hogweed 01

And that's it. Once I get all these on my site and do what I have to do, it is remotely possible that I may actually take a break from trading/weeding/etc. I keep saying this to myself, but this time it may actually be true. I have amassed what I now begin to feel is quite an adequate amount of Genesis bootlegs. If something new and interesting comes along though, I'm sure to want it. Only time will tell.

12 December, 2002 - The new shows are up on the site. Updates: I am getting 21/11/81 from a different source, and hopefully this time it will arrive with much more promptness as I'm doing a trade for it instead of waiting on a freebie. To those I am waiting for, add:

-Roxy 17 December '73: Probably at least a more complete version than mine, though possibly not better in quality.
-Hogweed 10: This is a remaster of a show I already have (24 April 1974)
-Seven Stones in Genoa: Again, a show I already have. This one has the songs jumbed up, but should get me "The Knife" from this performance, which my other version is actually missing (!).

I personally hate getting shows that I already have, but sometimes if you want good shows you really have to. As for the Gabriel show I mentioned in the last post, I may not even put that up on the site, or maybe just on my short list file, because I don't know that it fits in any of my categories and I don't want to make a whole new one just for it (I don't intend on expanding my collection of solo member bootlegs). Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll be getting to my parents' house this weekend, which means no new boots for me. I almost certainly have already received the Southampton '77 show and those '76 shows, but probably won't see them until next weekend.

8 December, 2002 - It's another weekend, and another batch of new bootlegs have arrived:

-Coming Down from Houston (22/10/78--at long last. Has tiny pauses, but I will remove, reburn, and reweed)
-FAde 003 (that's right! at long, long, long, long, last!!!!)
-Apocalypse in Dortmund (only playing of "Supper" on '78 tour!!)
-Exeter, England, 19/3/80 (Back in NYC from early in Duke tour!!)
-Dusseldorf '76 (upgrade to my copy, which has tiny pauses--this one should be pauseless)
-Peter Gabriel: Goodbye USA, 16/12/86 (this is a rarity for me--a solo member bootleg. The last show of at least the US leg of the So tour--I'll be retracking and trying to clean up this one as best I can)

On the way:

-21/11/81, I was supposed to be getting this from [Name Withheld--don't look on my old news page for his name!!] to replace mine, because the second half of my second disc is filled with digital stutters and huge cuts. However he has not emailed me in nearly a month even after I sent him a query. I understand being busy, but how about checking your email once a month!? And how hard can it be to burn two discs, no matter how busy you are? What am I, chopped liver?? Sorry, this has happened to me before, and it just makes me bitter...
-Hornet Field '92 (no news yet, but as I say, 2003 before I hear about this one I think)
-Toronto 01.04.76 (first existing boot from tour, though not first actual performance--should have Supper)
-Cleveland 14.04.76 (first night in Cleveland, before the famous radio show with a couple of notable screw-ups that I already have)
-Also should be getting a video of undisclosed stuff from the same source as the two '76 shows, above.

New:

-Hogweeds 01 (this is a rather typical SEBTP show, which I hadn't gotten yet because I didn't really care about it--but you can always trust the Hogweeds people to put together a nice complete, cutless show with some good artwork, so at least there's the security of knowing that it's probably going to sound good and be what it says it is)
-Southampton soundboard show, January '77 (this is a real treat--this soundboard show just surfaced in the traders' circle, even though it has probably been held by the uppity-ups for years--but now we peasants can have a listen as well. Soundboard shows of course rock, and this one also happens to feature one of the rare playings of "All in a Mouse's Night," I think. Only other Soundboard I have from '77 is incomplete, so I feel good about this one. Many thanks to Michael Mee for being generous enough to hand me off a copy--I will definitely re-weed when I get this one.)

As a final note, for those who are interested, I have just put up a new item on my "Goodies" list--a custom desktop image using Genesis imagery. I think it will work in any computer resolution that's 1024 x 768 or smaller. If you're interested in other desktop images that are not on the Goodies page, email me and maybe we can talk.

29 November, 2002 - Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it! And happy Black Friday to all of those who are brave enough to go shopping today...I have received many new boots:

-Brazil '77 (will be re-weeding once I listen to the whole thing--what I've heard so far is better than I expected)
-Genesis in Concert 1976 VCD (unfortunately doesn't work on my DVD player, but does work on my computer)
-3/3/77 Afterglow in Quebec (turns out the drum solo on this is not really rare at all--once I post up my comments, you'll see what I mean)
-1 May '76 Starlight Bowl, Burbank CA (good quality show, for an audience)
-Progweed 09, Roxy Club 19/12/73 (an upgrade to my copy, less hiss though the volume level is lower)
-Tony-Stratton Smith Presents Genesis VCD (nice to have on VCD, but the quality could be better)

Still waiting on:

-21/11/81, this one is starting to worry me--no news on it for a while, and all it was was two discs...
-Coming Down From Houston--should get this one next week; in fact I'm a bit surprised it hasn't arrived already.
-Hornet Field '92 (perhaps early 2003 on this one)
-FAde 003 (should be hearing about this soon--early December is what I've heard)

New trades:

-Apocalypse in Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany 14/06/78 (2cd - audience) (only playing of the ending sections of Supper's Ready during the '78 tour; this one's been on my wish list for a long time!)
-Exeter, England, UK 19/03/80 (2cd - audience) (with Back in NYC, from very early in the Duke tour--also from my wish list)
-Toronto 01.04.76 (first existing boot from tour, though not first actual performance--should have Supper)
-Cleveland 14.04.76 (first night in Cleveland, before the famous radio show with a couple of notable screw-ups that I already have)

So all the new boots I've gotten are what they say they are, have no pauses, and sound pretty darn good. I am, for once, utterly satisfied. Ahhh. The new ones will be going up as soon as I can put them up.

19 November, 2002 - I'm a little late with my update, but I do have a lot going on right now. I've received word from my FAde 003 branch and it sounds like it will be into December before I come close to seeing that show--but it's good to know there don't seem to be any broken branches along my path, so it should eventually happen. I received the following last weekend:

-Light Goes Down on Empire (I've used this to make the Empire Pooled show as complete as possible, and after a lot of fumbling have created shn files of the disc, which I am currently attempting to upload--it may prove rather difficult...)
-Quebec 3/3/73 (turned out to be rather incomplete, but there's nothing I can do about it--not the trader's fault)
-Hogweed 09 (weeded this one on already, after a bit of a draught on genesis-trades)
-Lamb VCD (wasn't expecting this one for a while, but here it is!)

Still waiting for the following:

-Brazil '77, 15/5/77 (supposedly one of the worst radio shows ever! this one is a weed, so when I get it it will be spread on)
-21/11/81 Cincinatti soundboard upgrade (from Alan Hewitt--sounds like this one will be a while)
-Coming Down From Houston: Texas '78 radio show (for real this time!! picked this one up on a weed, because I was too damn tired of waiting for it to come, from the guy who was supposed to send it to me THREE MONTHS AGO!!)
-Genesis in Concert 1976 VCD (pretty sure about this one, just sent the email to settle this trade so I'm not entirely sure yet...)
-Hornet Field '92 (as noted before, this one is in the process of being transferred from the original tape and won't be in my hands probably until 2003)
-FAde 003 (as noted above, could be into December before I get this)
Trades from FAde leaves:
-3/3/77 Afterglowing in Quebec (with a rare drum solo early in the performance)
-1 May '76 Starlight Bowl, Burbank CA (should be a nice full audience show)
-Progweed 09, Roxy Club 19/12/73 (already have a copy of what purports to be this show--this one should sound better)
-Tony Stratton-Smith Presents Genesis: VCD (Video CD footage of the Shepperton Studios show--I believe this is going to be remastered by the RVCD people, but what the heck)

In addition to these, and almost against my will, I may have one or two new trades in the offing. I don't seem to be able to back down here...Anyways, I hope to update my site with these new shows soon.

11 November, 2002 (updated 13 November) - I've added some more good traders to my list in the Sources page. Also there is more news on FAde 003. I am a sub-branch, which means I get my copy from a branch who gets his copy from a super-branch. There is only one super-branch covering all of the US--he will send his copy out to seven branches, and I get my copy from one of those seven. I have five leaves who will be contacting me for trades, so I may actually get five new shows out of this along with the FAde show. I've set up four of those trades already so I can now give you all an updated look at my "waiting for" list. First of all I'd like to say that the top level copies of FAde 003 will not go out until November 18, and then they have to filter down through a couple of levels before it gets to me. So it will be a few weeks before I see that show. However, here we go:

Received at my house:
-Light Goes Down on Empire (will pick this up this weekend, along with the next one--this one I'll use to make a "perfect" Empire Pool show which I will upload in shn form to an ftp site for download--if all goes well, that is)
-Quebec 3/3/73
Other shows I'll be getting:
-Hogweed 09 (should arrive soon--I may get it this weekend, and when I do I'll be weeding it on)
-Brazil '77, 15/5/77 (supposedly one of the worst radio shows ever! this one is a weed, so when I get it it will be spread on)
-21/11/81 Cincinatti soundboard upgrade (from Alan Hewitt--sounds like this one will be a while)
-Texas '78 radio show (been waiting for months for this one, still no word from the trader who owes it to me--he also owes me two VCDs)
-Hornet Field '92 (as noted before, this one is in the process of being transferred from the original tape and won't be in my hands probably until 2003)
-FAde 003 (as noted above, could be several weeks before I see this one)
Trades from FAde leaves:
-3/3/77 Afterglowing in Quebec (with a rare drum solo early in the performance)
-1 May '76 Starlight Bowl, Burbank CA (should be a nice full audience show)
-Progweed 09, Roxy Club 19/12/73 (already have a copy of what purports to be this show--this one should sound better)
-Lamb VCD (with various footage, varying widely in quality)

7 November, 2002 - All of my new boots are finally up (!). I've also added the Mick Jackson mp3s to my Goodies page; feel free to download them and check them out. RVCD3 has been added to my video page. I can't think of anything else, so that will be all for now.

5 November, 2002 - Update. I have received RVCD3. I have to watch it first, but I will then quickly be weeding it on through the genesis-trades list. I may be able to do a trade with Alan Hewitt himself to get a copy of the '81 Cincinatti show without errors. Am waiting until around mid-November for news of FAde 003. All of those shows I got at the end of October will (I promise, promise) go up on the bigger pages very soon. I had to listen to them all and make notes, which took a while, and then I ended up re-burning about 5 of them for various reasons. Here are shows I'm currently waiting for:

-Hogweed 09 (various TV appearances from early Genesis, compiled on one disc)
-Light Goes Down on Empire (from which I plan to update and perfect my "Empire Pooled" boot of the complete Wembley '75 performance; once I create this "perfect" show, I plan to contact a guy who has offered to put it up on an ftp site for multiple users to download)
-Quebec 3/3/73 (was hoping to get this one last weekend, but it is slow in arriving)
-'78 Houston (beginning to lose hope on this one, but developing murderous rage towards trader who will not send it to me and will not respond to my emails...)
-Hornet Field '92 (this will be my first show from the WCD tour--I'm doing the artwork for it for a fellow fan, so I'm getting a copy. Fairly rare show. However this is a long term one, as I don't believe it will be transferred from its original tape until sometime close to the end of this year.)

2 November, 2002 - OK, more info here. It turns out that '80 show that I was not sure about actually is what it said it was--it just happens to be missing the "Knife" encore that some other versions of the show do have. This is unfortunate, but it's not a bad show otherwise and is fairly complete, so I'm ok with it. I did have some split-second pauses on multiple shows from my big trade, but I can always reburn them if I want to go to the trouble of doing so--I don't think the pauses removed much music, if they removed any at all, and 9 times out of 10 the pauses didn't come right in the middle of a song anyway.

Now for the bad news: the '81 Cincinatti soundboard show is damaged. The last three numbers on the second disc (Turn It, Volcano/Drums/Endos, and IKWIL) all have stutters and major cuts. It really sounds as if someone burned it on the fly and the drive they were reading from started skipping all over the place. This did not come from the trader I got it from, as his source copy has exactly the same problems. I am currently on the lookout for a clean copy of this show, as other than having these problems it is quite a nice clean soundboard show. If you are reading this and have a copy, please contact me here.

It's possible that I may get some of the shows I am still waiting for some time this weekend. The most likely ones are RVCD3 (I have it written as being RVCD4 below--this is not correct, sorry!) and Quebec '73. We'll see...I should be putting up my new shows on the site very soon. News about FAde 003 should be forthcoming within the next week or so.

Also, lastly some very exciting news for me: I have received mp3 clips of four songs Genesis recorded very early in their career, possibly around January of 1970, for a documentary about the painter Mick Jackson. The documentary was scrapped but the BBC tape of their song recordings for it still exists. I believe it has fallen into the hands of someone who will not be circulating it, but apparently some very short clips of the songs have escaped into the world. They are achingly short, but the quality is awesome and it's a very interesting look into a very early part of their career--in fact this is the earliest bootleg material I have, if the date I have been given for it is correct (and I believe that it is).

30 October, 2002 - Some updates. The show I got in a previous trade that I thought was "Once in a While," but missing a couple of tracks, is in fact an alternate version of Malmo 6/6/78, which I already have. However, this version seems to be missing "Say It's Alright Joe" but has a bunch of additional songs from the latter half of the set that were not present on my original Malmo show (are you confused yet?). I have created a better show by mixing the two boots. I have also created a new show called "Empire Pooled" using tracks from the new "Perfect Vintage" and my older "Awed Man Out"--and it looks like I'll be getting yet another Empire Pool show ("The Light Goes Down on Empire") that will fill in a tiny hole in my present show and give me the full, full broadcast (finally!) from that date. Also, I've been slowly listening to all the new gigs, and I think that they are all what they say they are except the 1980 show--I still haven't really listened to that one, so more info is forthcoming. There are unfortunately multiple shows with pause problems--which pisses me off no end, but I have to live with it. Most of them are split-second pauses. I guess that's it for now...if anything else occurs to me, I'll just add it to the page. I weeded the shows I needed to weed. Waiting on news for FAde 003 and waiting on the other stuff listed below in the 27/10 post.

27 October, 2002 - All right everybody, it's bootleg time. Here's what I've received (it's a huge shipment):

June 7, 1978 - Once in a While (complete version)
A Perfect Vintage (I'll be weeding this one soon...)
Kennington Oval, 30/9/72
Echoes of the Broadway, 15/5/75
DeMontfort Hall, Leicester, 22/1/77 (with Mouse's Night)
Olympiahalle, 3/7/77 (Steve's last gig--I already have it, but mine's missing IKWIL. This one should fill in that gap.)
Down in Bloomington, 3/4/78 (possibly soundboard, with Down and Out)
Roxy Theatre, 25/5/80 (surprise Duke tour gig--should have Knife, but does not--may be misdated...more later...)
Riverfront Stadium, 21/11/81 (this is a soundboard boot)
Man on the Corner, 29/9/82 (actually as it turns out I think this is 30/9/82--it's rather incomplete, but the sound is good)
Outvisible Side, 30/9/86 (I believe this is also a soundboard boot)
Melbourne Australia, 11/12/86 (with Invisible Strings, Chester's birthday)
Madison Wisconsin '84 (a remaster that's just recently been released; this is another one I'll be weeding soon on genesis-trades)

You may notice that the Madison show was not one I even mentioned I was getting--I just didn't mention it, it came quickly as kind of a freebie (thanks Dave!). Here are some other things I should be getting soon:

3/3/73 Quebec
RVCD4 ('74 French footage from a program which I believe was called "Melody"--not sure about much else--I'll weed this one)
Possibly a couple other VCDs
Texas '78 (HAVE STILL NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS ONE!!!! I've been waiting for it for a ridiculous amount of time...)

Lastly, big news: FAde 003 is going to be released! Probably around early November. I've submitted my info to the Weeding Tree, and hopefully will have a copy to give out. More info on that when I get it. Other than that, I have no other trades/shows coming to me, and I have no plans of starting new trades, especially not in the near future, as I have lots and lots and LOTS of music to listen to, and shows to weed and copy for people as well. As with my last shipment, it's going to take me quite a while to get these up on the site, because I have to work 8 hours a day and listen to all these shows first before I do anything with them site-wise. But as soon as I can, they will be up. For now, you know they're here if you check this page.

17 October, 2002 - A short update. I haven't actually put any of those new boots up on the site yet, but I am listening to them, honest! I'm going to start working on them soon. It's possible that "A Perfect Vintage" has arrived at my parents' house. But I may not pick it up for another week, as I don't live at my parents' house, and it's an hour and a half drive from my apartment--which is just too long a drive for a single disc bootleg of material that I have already heard. ! An update on the previous post--in the list of boots I'm waiting for, this one:

Afterglowing in Quebec, 3/3/77

I'm not getting anymore. It turns out it was missing a song. Rather than get an incomplete show, I opted to switch it out for:

DeMontfort Hall, Leicester, 22/1/77

So, same tour anyway. I won't be getting that big shipment this weekend, but maybe next weekend. I also just got a new trade which should, ironically, get me this show:

Quebec, 3/3/73

I've also done a tiny update or two to my mysteries page--nothing earth-shattering. I've heard rumblings that FAde 3 might actually be released very soon...

13 October, 2002 - The boot express has made another stop. Ah, sweet boots--how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...These are the new ones I've got:

Munich '76
Viareggio 20/8/72 early show complete (very, very excited about this one--major upgrade to 1st disc of Coastliners, w/Harold!!)
Naples 19/4/72 complete (upgrade to my incomplete copy)
Voice in the Dream (Cleveland '74)
The Real Last Time (Torino '75) (only Italian Lamb gig)
Dance on a Berkeley (Berkeley '76)
Water and Wrecking (St. Louis '77) (incomplete, from soundboard)
23/1/98 Bray Film Studios

I've checked these discs, and they all appear to be exactly what they say they are, with no problems. Very refreshing. What I'm waiting for now is as follows:

June 7, 1978 - Once in a While (complete version)
A Perfect Vintage (somewhere, sometime, from someone, I will get this...)
Kennington Oval, 30/9/72
Echoes of the Broadway, 15/5/75
Afterglowing in Quebec, 3/3/77
Olympiahalle, 3/7/77 (Steve's last gig--I already have it, but mine's missing IKWIL. This one should fill in that gap.)
Down in Bloomington, 3/4/78 (possibly soundboard, with Down and Out)
Roxy Theatre, 25/5/80 (surprise Duke tour gig, with Knife encore)
Riverfront Stadium, 21/11/81 (this is a soundboard boot)
Man on the Corner, 29/9/82
Outvisible Side, 30/9/86 (I believe this is also a soundboard boot)
Melbourne Australia, 11/12/86 (one of the only boots from the Australia leg of the IT tour, with the Invisible Strings)
Texas '78, Hofheinz (radio show)
VCDs
FAde 003 (maybe)

It's ridiculous how long I've been waiting for that damn Texas '78 show, and it is still nowhere in sight. I'm awfully annoyed about it right now. However, nearly every single one of the other shows I'm waiting for up there will all come together in one big package, which with some luck I will receive rather soon. Hopefully not too soon, though, as I have lots of burning and cataloguing to do. I'll get those new shows up asap, but it may be a while--it's amazing how little free time one has when one works 8 hours a day...

10 October, 2002 - My new boots are posted up. The '78 show was incomplete, but very soon I hope to get a complete copy, and so I've put it up on the site anyway. In addition to all the boots listed below that I'm waiting for, I should also get an upgrade to my Small Club at the Marquee show pretty soon. Probably this weekend I'll get at least a few of the shows on that list down there.

6 October, 2002 - Rather unexpectedly, I have received 4 boots; the 4 in a row after Munich '76 on the previous entry's list (4/12/81, 7/6/78, 9/8/82, and 31/5/98). They're good shows with valuable stuff on them and I'll be putting them up over the next few days.

4 October, 2002 - All the new boots are up. And, boy howdy, do I have a lot of new shows on the way! Big trades happening here. This is my new list:

Munich '76
December 4, 1981 - Montreal Forum (Like It or Not performance--thought I had this one before, but now I should really have it)
June 7, 1978 - Once in a While (Sweden) (with Down and Out)
August 9, 1982 - LA Forum w/Phenix Horns (and a guest appearance by Bill Bruford)
May 31, 1998 - Rock Im Park (last CAS show)
Viareggio 20/8/72 early show complete (very, very excited about this one--major upgrade to 1st disc of Coastliners, w/Harold!!)
Naples 19/4/72 complete (upgrade to my incomplete copy)
A Perfect Vintage (remastered version of all radio broadcast songs from Empire Pool, 15/4/75: someone should be sending it to me, I think)
Voice in the Dream (Cleveland '74)
The Real Last Time (Torino '75) (only Italian Lamb gig)
Dance on a Berkeley (Berkeley '76)
Water and Wrecking (St. Louis '77) (incomplete, from soundboard)
23/1/98 Bray Film Studios (early warm-up gig from CAS tour with rare performances of "That's All" and "Hold on My Heart")

As you can see, a ridiculous amount of new shows there. This will greatly increase my collection. These will probably be very slow to get up on the site, however, as I am back to being a full-time employee as of 7 October! I also (really and truly this time, for real!) intend to severely cut back on my trading after this. I am still open to offers for trades, but I won't be seeking them out (unless for some reason I'm very tempted). We'll see if I can keep to that. It's hard to stop trading, believe me. Anyway, I'll be updating this page as I get in shipments and such.

30 September, 2002 - I have new boots. They are:

Hogweed 2 (Lamb show--I now have Hogweeds 2-8)
Dusseldorf '76
23/12/81 NEC Birmingham (with The Knife!)
23/11/86 from the New Zealand leg of the IT tour; also has a soundcheck and Cowdray Ruins '93, Phil's last Genesis gig!
9/6/80 Pine Knob (the gig without Daryl)
29/6/80 MSG (a rare playing of Back in NYC by Phil, as an encore)

Still waiting on:

Munich '76
Texas '78
VCDs??

I hesitate to even mention it again, but whenever FAde 003 comes out I do plan on trying very hard to get a copy (turns out it is not coming out today, the date has been pushed once again). There was a guy I was trading with a very very long time ago who said he would give me a copy when it came out, but it's been so darn long that I totally wouldn't blame him if he forgot. I also am in the midst of finalizing a couple of new trades which may fetch me as many as 7 more new shows. We'll see what comes of it.

26 September, 2002 - All new boots are up on the site with comments. This weekend I might receive a good deal of the rest of the ones I'm waiting for. The guy I was talking about in the last post has not really disappeared off the face of the earth--he contacted me, so I may be getting the stuff he promised fairly soon. I will be giving away my extra Landover shows on the genesis-trades list very soon. I may not have mentioned this yet on here: I added a new list to the objective lists page. It's the most often played live list, and details which songs were played the most by Genesis. You might be surprised by the answers...I have read on FAde's website that they claim FAde 003 will be going out the end of this month--we'll see what happens with that.

23 September, 2002 - This day is the anniversary of Genesis' very first live gig, played at a Sunday School teacher's house. Here are my new bootlegs that I've got (they will, as always, be going up on my lists as soon as possible):

Naples '72 (unfortunately an incomplete version--there are better versions out there)
Hogweeds 7 and 8 (a SEBTP show and a Lamb show)
Ford Auditorium '76 (on cassette; I'll have to transfer it)
From One Fan to All the Others
Apocalypse (Rome '82)
The Musical Box (Genesis cover band from Montreal) promo CD (this one won't be going up on my list, but I do have it)
Landover MD 30/11/81 (I actually have two extra copies of this show, sent to me by two different traders--I may weed them out soon)

Here's what I'm still waiting for in the mail, plus a new trade which should be going through soon:

Hogweed 2 (Lamb show)
Dusseldorf '76
Munich '76
23/12/81 NEC Birmingham (with The Knife!)
23/11/86 from the New Zealand leg of the IT tour; also has a soundcheck and Cowdray Ruins '93, Phil's last Genesis gig!
9/6/80 Pine Knob (the gig without Daryl)
29/6/80 MSG (a rare playing of Back in NYC by Phil, as an encore)

There are also the following, which I may never get (at least not from who I thought I would), because the trader seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth (btw, his name is Kevin Behrndt, and if anyone knows him or what's up with him, PLEASE CONTACT ME):

Texas '78 Hoffheintz (radio show)
VCDs (he wasn't sure which he was going to give me at the time; now I will probably get jack, because he appears to have died or something)

18 September, 2002 - OK, all the new boots I've gotten are now up on the pages. I also taped the Behind the Music special on Genesis which was re-aired on VH1 last night, and added it to my video section. Also made various updates to various pages, including the set list page and the objective lists. I might be getting more stuff than I thought this weekend, bootleg-wise (it happens to be my birthday this Saturday, so it's only fair ;). I also got myself into yet another new trade (just when I was trying again to stop!), and I should get this show out of it:

Manchester, April 27, 1975 (HW02)

As for the 4/12/81 show, the person I was trading with for it just doesn't have it, so for now I won't be getting that show. Disappointing, but what can you do?

17 September, 2002 - Another quick update, folks: I have unfortunately just discovered that what I thought was the 4/12/81 Montreal show is in fact just another copy of the 30/11/81 Landover show, which I already have. Blah! I'm going to see if I can possibly rectify this situation; more info will be posted here when I get it. For now, though, scratch the 4/12/81 show; I just don't have it.

...And another update--the show that I thought was going to be 22/12/81 is in fact 21/12/81--a small error, but it means that I thought I was going to get a show with Phil doing trumpet solos, but instead ended up with no trumpet solos. Still, it's a good quality show with some good stuff on it, so even though I'm mad now I'll probably enjoy it eventually...

17 September, 2002 - I've gotten the following bootlegs:

Bataclan VCD (major upgrade to my VHS copy--is up on the video page already)
4/12/81 Montreal
Worcester '83
Normal '83
Studio
Marquee Club '72
22/12/81

Also this weekend I should come into possession of the following additional bootlegs:

From One Fan to All the Others (Lakeland show only)
Ford Auditorium '76 (on cassette; will transfer)
Apocalypse (alternate version of my Return to Roma show, with "Man on the Corner")
Musical Box promo CD (this is a 4-track promo of the Genesis cover band The Musical Box--I won't put it up on my list, but I will have it)

So, that should leave only the following that I'll still be waiting for:

Dusseldorf '76
Munich '76
Texas '78
VCDs?
Naples '72
Hogweeds 7 and 8
Like It or Not - Landover MD (extra copy)

The first one of these should be on its way, the second has not been received by the trader who's giving it to me yet, and the rest...I just don't know about, because the two people I was trading with to get them do not appear to have sent packages they told me they were going to send and are now not replying to my emails. However, I'm sure they will reply eventually and I'll figure out what's going on. The boots that I have I will put up on my lists asap.

13 September, 2002 - A few things have happened since last time. I received the MSG '88 boot I was waiting for in addition to the other ones mentioned previously. They are now all up on my site, and the videos page has been reorganized a bit. Also I have done major updates and revisions to my band formations list and demos, etc. lists in the objective section of my lists page, due to new information uncovered mainly by one of my contest winners. Interesting stuff. I also have obtained a picture of the elusive Mick Barnard, which I will be putting into my Faux Bios section soon. I have instigated some new trades, so the boots I'm waiting for are now thus:

Bataclan VCD (supposed to be real good, this one--I already have this footage on VHS, I think)
2/7/76 Dusseldorf - from my wish list
4/12/81 like it or not show in Montreal
Worcester '83
Normal, IL 7/11/83 (these last three have all arrived at my old house, I just have to pick them up)
From One Fan to All the Others (just the Lakeland Lamb show)
Ford Auditorium '76 (on cassette; will transfer)
Apocalypse (a version of my "Return to Roma" show which has the "Man on the Corner" that's missing from mine)
Studio (various outtakes, but mostly stuff I already have or Anthony Phillips demos)
Marquee Club '72 (hopefully an upgrade)
Munich '76
22/12/81 (this also has arrived at my house and I will get it tomorrow)
Texas '78
VCDs?
Naples '72
Hogweeds 7 and 8
Like It or Not, Landover (extra copy--will probably give out to genesis-trades group)

Something is holding the last few of these up, I don't know why. But those are all the ones I'm waiting for. Trying to back off on the trades, but it doesn't seem to be working...All contest prizes have been sent out except one--he still hasn't decided what he wants...

9 September, 2002 - For those contest winners who have contacted me with their prize requests: all of your boots have been burned, and I intend to mail them out today, if possible. Two of you have yet to get back to me (Claus and Dave), but as soon as you do I'll get to work on your CDs. I've just received a pile of new bootlegs:

Roxy, 17/12/73
Selling Dusseldorf by the Pound, 30/1/74 (featuring a rare performance of Harold the Barrel--it's possible that I now have every existing recording of that song being played live!!)
Oslo, 8/6/78 (featuring a rare performance of Ballad of Big--I now have 3 different recordings of that song)
Drury Lane 4/5/80 (featuring a rare encore of The Knife--unsure about the date on this one, but I'll discuss that in my comments section later)
Columbia, MD 14/6/80 (just a typical show from this tour)
Like It or Not - Landover, MD 30/11/81 (with the song from its title!)
DVDs:
1) The Mama Tour concert video
2) Three Sides Live: Concert / Documentary
3) Genesis: A History
4) Genesis Videos Volumes 1 & 2

As usual, these will all be going up on my lists as soon as I get a chance (though it may take longer than usual, as I am very busy with multiple burning obligations right now). I may also reorganize my video page by medium (ie, all the VHS tapes together, then all the VCDs, then the DVDs). Those of you who are really paying attention will notice that I didn't even mention that the first four shows on this list were even headed to me. That is because the trade happened so quickly that I didn't even have a chance to put it up here before the discs arrived! How's that for service? All of those shows were on my wish list, btw, so it's good news for me. Here's the other stuff that I haven't got yet but should soon:

-Birmingham NEC, 22/12/81
-MSG '88 Atlantic anniversary performance (Turn It on Again medley)
-Naples 19/4/72
-Hogweed 7: 4/5/74 (Voices in the Academy)
-Hogweed 8: 28/4/75 (Palace Theatre Manchester)
-Houston--Hoffheinz Pavilion 22/10/78 (radio show)
-A couple VCDs, possibly a bonus show or two
-Like It or Not: Landover, Maryland 30/11/81 (another copy of this show is coming from a different trader; probably I'll offer it up to someone)
-Normal, IL 11/7/83 (first show of Mama tour, with very very rare Eleventh Earl of Mar medley including Squonk and Ripples)
-Worcester, MA 11/29/83 (later in Mama tour, 3 discs, another form of the Eleventh Earl of Mar medley)
-Montreal 12/4/81 (featuring a very rare performance of Like It or Not)

Believe it or not, it's actually fairly possible that I'll receive almost all of these by next weekend. I have been told by everyone that I'm dealing with for these that they are in the mail--all except the Houston '78 show and the VCDs, I don't know what's up with those. I also have set up (I think) one more trade, which should get me the following:

-"Studio": this is a bunch of studio outtakes. May have one or two interesting things, but mostly seems to be Anthony Phillips rare tracks, not Genesis stuff.
-Marquee Club, September '72: transferred from original vinyl, may end up being an upgrade to my copy, which honestly doesn't sound all that great and has been patched together from two different sources.
-Munich '76: a typical TOTT show (actually, they were all typical). This trade may take a while because the trader doesn't have this show yet.
-I've also just gotten in on a weed of the Bataclan '73 VCD, which should get to me pretty soon.

6 September, 2002 - As quickly as it began, THE CONTEST IS NOW OVER. Sorry, any other submissions will not be accepted, but anyone who was too late or submitted and did not win can feel free to contact me (there are many links to my email on this site, including one at the bottom of this page) to discuss bootlegs. Winners have been notified (they are many) and the winning captions are now up on the site (click "View winning entries of the past" at the top of the Contest page). I now have a ton of burning to do, but I'll try to get through it as quickly as possible. I also am setting up a couple more trades, but I'm going to wait a bit before I post up which shows I'll be getting, just to make sure. Those of you who have won the contest and are interested in what shows I will be getting in the near future can feel free to contact me and ask--most of them are listed on this page, below.

5 September, 2002 - It's been a while since I posted, so here goes. I have one more show on the way to me than the ones listed in the previous post, and I'm also working on a couple of additional trades which may net me as many as 6 more shows. Here's the one I'm definite about:

Birmingham NEC, 22/12/81 - the night BEFORE they played "The Knife." However, it is a complete show and it does have Phil doing some trumpet solos, I believe.

I'm also RUNNING A CONTEST ON HERE RIGHT NOW!!! This is my second contest, and as usual I was very tentative about starting it as I'm currently waiting on receiving a bunch more shows, but I decided there's no use in waiting. If you'd like to participate in the contest, go to the contest page by clicking on the button above that says "Contest"--I can't say it any plainer than that. The bootlegs section of the site details all of my bootlegs, and this page details all the boots that are headed my way but have yet to get here. My bootlegs are what you get to pick from as a prize if you win the contest, or are declared a runner-up. Good luck!

In other news: I've been doing lots of little updates to all the other pages on this site, especially the lists pages. Still considering adding another objective list that archives some of Pete's best stories, but it would be time consuming, and I'm sure to make a big project out of it, so I'm not jumping into it just yet. Now I'm rambling, so I'll stop. Later!

27 August, 2002 - Hi. Remember how I said I wasn't going to do any new trades? Well, it looks like I lied. Here's an update, starting with the ones I should get soonest:

-Naples 19/4/72
-Hogweed 7: 4/5/74 (Voices in the Academy)
-Hogweed 8: 28/4/75 (Palace Theatre Manchester)
-Congo single (another copy)
-Houston--Hoffheinz Pavilion 22/10/78 (radio show)
-A couple VCDs, possibly a bonus show or two

That's just the old stuff. Now for the new trades:

-MSG '88 (Atlantic Anniversary performance) - just one Turn It on Again medley from Genesis here, but it's the only time they ever played solo members' work, even if most people seem to think it sucks. Will be in audio cassette, but I'll transfer it to CD.

-The following on DVD, transferred from VHS:
1) The Mama Tour concert video
2) Three Sides Live: Concert / Documentary
3) Genesis: A History
4) Genesis Videos Vol. 1
5) Genesis Videos Vol.2
I've always complained about the problems of VHS tapes and how I wished I had stuff on DVD, so this is great news for me, even though I already have 3 out of the 5 of these on VHS.

-Like It or Not: Landover, Maryland 30/11/81 (the title speaks for itself; I didn't get this in an earlier trade, but now here it is!)
-Columbia Maryland, 14/6/80 (not a really special show, nothing rare in it, but what the heck, I'm short on Duke tour shows)
-Normal, IL 11/7/83 (first show of Mama tour, with very very rare Eleventh Earl of Mar medley including Squonk and Ripples)
-Worcester, MA 11/29/83 (later in Mama tour, 3 discs, another form of the Eleventh Earl of Mar medley)
-Montreal 12/4/81 (featuring a very rare performance of Like It or Not)

And, as always, I may some day receive FAde 003 from...someone. If it ever comes out. Now, after these trades, maybe then I'll try to lay low for a while. We'll see if I can stand to do it. I also should have some extra discs lying around in the near future which I will try to give away to people.

21 August, 2002 - I have bootlegs! These are the ones I just got:

-Shades of Dawning (incredible upgrade to my Watford Technical College boot--it sounds a million times better!!)
-Euchre Show (Highland's version of Watford Town Hall, may sound slightly better overall, also w/o clicks)
-Boston '80
-Royal Cinema Show

I'll be getting them up on the site asap. Also have done some updates to my set list page and my objective lists page.

18 August, 2002 - Update time again! Here are the shows I just received:

-Calling All Radio Stations-Copenhagen,Denmark 15/11/97 (excellent quality radio material)
-Palasport Italy - 20/1/73 (great foxtrot show--really quite good quality, lots of numbers)
-Harold in Offenbach-Offenbach Germany 31/1/74
-San Francisco, 25/3/77 (bonus show)
-Osaka Japan, 30/11/78 (bonus show)

Through a small mix-up, though I did receive two quite good bonus shows, I did not receive one of the shows I thought I was going to get, Naples 19/4/72. However, I should be getting it soon, in a package with HW07 and 08 (probably it will be in my hands by next weekend). Here are some other shows that I now know are on their way to me:

-Watford Technical College, 1972 (AKA Shades of Dawning)(upgrade from my version, should be more audible)
-Watford Town Hall, 28/6/72 (AKA Euchre Show)(Highland, an upgrade from mine, which had some clicks on it)
-Boston '80 (audience boot with "supper's ready in 16 seconds," something I've been longing to hear)
-Royal Cinema Show, Birmingham NEC 2-29-84 (last mama show, with Earl medley)
-Congo LE single (will be a couple weeks, was sent via non-air mail from Germany, but I already have a copy anyway, so...)
-Houston--Hoffheinz Pavilion 10-22-78 (radio show)
-One or two more VCDs (Shepperton Studios and/or Melody TV program from France)
-Possibly some bonus shows from same source as last two things (but these will all be a while in coming, as he's on vacation)

And I may get FAde 003 some day.

Anyways, I'll be getting the new ones I've got into the site very soon, and the two Watford shows, Boston '80 and Royal Cinema Show may arrive as early as next weekend. You may have noticed that I haven't been adding new shows to this "waiting for" list lately; this is because I haven't been going out of my way to do any new trades, and have not been checking on my mailing lists for offers. I'm still very open to trades if you contact me, but I don't intend to go out of my way to actively create any new trades--once I get all these ones I'm waiting for, I'm going to cut back and you might not hear as much on this news page. I really do need to get myself a new job, and if I do, I will probably not have as much time to work on this site anyway.

14 August, 2002 - Hi there! I have an update. I've received the Lyceum '80 VCD, the Norman Oklahoma show, Hogweeds 06, and a couple of bonus things that I did not expect to get, namely: Congo enhanced CD (this came from someone else, not the person I originally thought I would get it from, who as far as I know is still sending it to me, so eventually I'll have two copies) and a VHS tape with Genesis in Concert '76 on it, as well as a nice Steve Hackett live clip that I don't know much about because I don't follow Hackett's solo career. I already had the '76 clip, but this one is a major upgrade and it looks great. The VCD from Lyceum doesn't actually work the way it should, but I can still watch it on my computer (see my entry for it in the Video section if you want to know more). All of these shows are now up on the site, and I've done some small updates to my lists (Medleys and Set List). I should be getting the following shows very soon, possibly this weekend:

-Naples, Italy - 19/4/72
-Calling All Radio Stations-Copenhagen,Denmark 15/11/97
-Palasport Italy - 20/1/73
-Harold in Offenbach-Offenbach Germany 31/1/74

Unfortunately it turns out I won't be getting the "Like It or Not" show at Landover--but I will be getting some other discs instead, I don't know what they'll be. Some day I may get HW07 and HW08, but I may have lost that part of the trade. For other discs I'm expecting, you can look at the 6 August entry under "New Trade" and "Other Stuff I May Get..." I really don't know when I'll be getting those--it will probably be a while.

6 August, 2002 - Here's an update for you all. All of my new boots are up with comments on my new, re-vamped web pages. Also my comments on the IT tour video are up and I've received re-sends of Return to Roma (1982) and Live in LA (1984) and updated those entries on the pages. I didn't receive any of the ones I was waiting for besides those re-sends last weekend, and I may receive some shows this weekend but I won't be able to put them up as I have to fly to New Mexico for my cousin's wedding! However I've instigated another trade and the other person I was trading with has also decided to give me some cooooool bonuses, so here's a revised list of what I'm getting (as usual, the ones more likely to arrive first are listed first):

-Lyceum 80 VCD
-Naples, Italy - 19/4/72 (an NC show that not many people have...)
-Norman, Oklahoma - 19/1/84 (on my wish list, this one has one of the rare Mar medleys)
-Calling All Radio Stations-Copenhagen,Denmark 15/11/97 (early CAS radio show, with lots of other random stuff from CAS tour)
-Palasport Italy - 20/1/73 (a full Foxtrot show, from my wish list)
-Harold in Offenbach-Offenbach Germany 31/1/74 (from my wish list, another rare Harold the Barrel performance)
-Like It or Not-Capital Centre-Landover MD
-Hogweeds 06 (a Foxtrot show I already have, but this version should sound better)
-Hogweeds 07 (4 May 1974 Academy of Music--I already have this show, but the HW remaster is sure to sound better)
-Hogweeds 08 (28 April 1975 Palace Theatre, Manchester--Lamb show with double encore Box/Watcher)
NEW TRADE:
-Watford Technical College, 1972 (AKA Shades of Dawning)(upgrade from my version, should be more audible)
-Watford Town Hall, 28/6/72 (AKA Euchre Show)(Highland, an upgrade from mine, which had some clicks on it)
-Boston '80 (audience boot with "supper's ready in 16 seconds," something I've been longing to hear)
-Houston--Hoffheinz Pavilion 10-22-78 (radio show)
-Royal Cinema Show--Birmingham NEC 2-29-84 (last mama show, with Earl medley)
-One or two more VCDs (Shepperton Studios and/or Melody TV program from France)
OTHER STUFF I MAY GET SOME DAY, I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN:
-FAde 003 (I may never get this one, at least not from the person I thought was going to send it to me...)
-Congo LE single (as with the one above, no emails have come from the person who was supposed to send me this, so I just don't know)

31 July, 2002 - Hello!! I'm back, and I'm married. And honeymooned, for that matter (does that sound dirty?). That was one of my longest gaps between news posts. Anyways, even before I left I had received the following:

-IT tour video
-The Red Dress Returns, 3/98 (complete CAS audience show)
-Second Nature, 3/77 (complete '77 show with "Your own special way," plus 2 tracks from a Glasgow show of '76)
-Los Endos in Ft. Worth (a good '76 show that everyone seems to have a copy of)
-Laussane Switzerland '73 (second extant sebtp show--incomplete, only one disc.)
-Olympia Theatre Paris '73 (foxtrot radio show, very end of tour)
-Melody of 1976 (11/6/76, from radio show)
-Steam of the Medley (Omaha, 3/2/84)
-Knebworth '90 (a short performance Genesis did between tours for charity concert)
-Perpetual Soundwave
-various Genesis vinyl LPs from the Phil years (TOTT, ATTW3, Duke, Abacab, Seconds Out)

However, there are some problems with some of these. Red Dress, Steam of the Medley and Knebworth '90 all had to be re-burned because of nasty, nasty pauses (how we hates them!). I have yet to re-burn Red Dress, but will do it soon. Lausanne is a fake--it was labeled Lausanne, but it is not, and it sounds AWFUL. Easily one of the worst boots I've ever listened to. I think it may actually be at the Olympia Theatre in Paris, very very early in the SEBTP tour. Still, the quality sucks so bad that it's basically worthless. Also, the other boot that should have been Olympia Theatre from May of '73 is actually a horrible, horrible audience boot from the SEBTP tour--the tracks are all out of order so I have no idea what date it's from. It is so useless and unidentifiable that I have not even added it to my list, and I don't think I will. Oh it makes me mad! But I have other boots...And I may receive more very soon, as in this weekend. Again, the ones I'm waiting for now are:

-Hogweeds 06

I am additionally waiting on re-sends of Return to Roma and Live in LA, both of which are already up on my site but which have those nasty pauses in them again (how hard is it to burn CDs w/o pauses, I ask you?). There are also two other ones I may get one day, but it will be a while before I get them:

-FAde 003 (the reunion show, remastered!)
-Congo LE Single

I have re-vamped the tables of contents at the top of all my boot pages, and I have also broken up my short list by tour. The tables of contents may actually have gotten a little uglier, but they are now much easier for me to update and also are broken up by tour. I have not yet added the comments, track lists, etc. for all those new boots, but I will soon.

18 July, 2002 - Alrighty! It nearly killed me, but I've put all 13 new shows on my site, even though I haven't even listened to all of them all the way through yet. I was mistaken about some of the things I wrote on my last news post about them, and I have to get two of them resent to me because they have butt ugly pauses between tracks. But all in all a good haul. It turns out the 15/1/73 show I got has just been released as HW06, a show I will also be receiving soon! It also turns out that the LA '84 show was not Los Cage, but an alternate bootleg from that night with slightly different songs. Also the "Me and Virgil" bootleg is NOT from 26/9/81 Spain, but instead from the next show of 29/9 in France. It just happens to have "Me and Virgil" from the Spain show on it. Well, my boot pages are huge and they're only going to get huger (is that a word?). When I get back from my honeymoon (which won't be until July 29, mind you), I'll have more shows to catalogue and will most likely try to organize my boot pages a little differently--probably this will involve separating my lists by tour--it's too unclear right now what tour which show is from, and they need to be delineated in that way. This will mean I'll have to revamp the table of contents image maps I've been putting at the tops of each long boot page--they're difficult to update in their present form anyway. In addition to all this I am very soon going to be getting some Genesis studio albums on vinyl--right now all my albums are on CD, and it will be cool to have the old records. I'm not sure whether I'll bother cataloguing those on the site or not, but you never know--I might just be that crazy. Anyway! In all likelihood this is my last post before I am married. Goodbye to bachelorhood! Goodbye, Genesis freaks! Keep circulating the tapes! CDs, that is...Here's a final compiled list of all the stuff I'm waiting for, and will probably have when I get back:

-IT tour video
-FAde 003 (if it ever comes out)
-Hogweeds 06
-The Red Dress Returns, 3/98 (complete CAS audience show)

-Awed Man Out, 15/4/75 (Empire Pool Lamb show, excellent quality)
-Triangle on Domino, 8/6/87 (Radio show from IT tour)
-Friar's Club, 22/3/80 (Duke show with Back in NYC, Knife)

-Roma 1982 (two disc seemingly complete audience show from 3SL tour)
-Voices in the Academy 1974 (SEBTP show, penultimate show of the tour, at the NY Academy of Music)

In addition to this, and the other boots I'm still waiting on, I will probably also receive the following:
IT tour video
FAde 003 (it STILL hasn't come out yet, but I believe it will very soon, and I'm on someone's list for that)
Hogweeds 06 (a Foxtrot tour show, I think I should get a copy of this one with one of my other shipments)
Again, I am getting married on the 20th (which is in FIVE DAYS!!!), but I'm going to try to post up all of these new shows. I may receive some others in addition to the ones I listed above before the wedding, but I don't think I'll be able to get those up on the site until after I come back from my honeymoon (I won't be able to do anything from July 20-July 29).

8 July, 2002 - OK, here's a couple (!) more shows that I might be getting at some point:
-The Red Dress Returns, 3/98 (complete CAS audience show)
-Second Nature, 3/77 (complete '77 show with "Your own special way," plus 2 tracks from a Glasgow show of '77)
-Los Endos in Ft. Worth (a good '76 show that everyone seems to have a copy of)
-Laussane Switzerland '73 (second extant sebtp show--incomplete, only one disc.)
-olympia theatre paris '73(foxtrot radio show, very end of tour)

-Like It or Not-Capital Centre-Landover MD (title says it all, one of the only two recorded shows with "Like It or Not.")

Clearly, I really do need to take a break! There are also one or two other shows I may receive, but I don't want to write them down because I'm just not certain of them. I'm actually not totally certain I'll get the last chunk of shows I listed here--I should get them, but I might not get all of them, and some of them might be messed up. These will all probably take a while to get here as well. We'll see.

6 July, 2002 - My own constructed complete Lyceum show is up on my list. Here's an updated list of boots headed my way:
-Awed Man Out, 15/4/75 (Empire Pool Lamb show, excellent quality)
-Triangle on Domino, 8/6/87 (Radio show from IT tour)
-Friar's Club, 22/3/80 (Duke show with Back in NYC, Knife)

-Steam of the Medley (Omaha, 3/2/84 with Mar medley)
-Knebworth '90 (charity concert, one-off performance)
-Perpetual Soundwave (from 3SL/FIABA show, not as complete but should be an upgrade in sound quality)
-15/4/72: Lugo di Ravenna 1CD (should nearly complete my list of NC tour shows!)
-28/9/72: Dublin 1CD (Pete in fox dress for the first time)
-15/1/73: Germany 1CD (Foxtrot show)
-16/4/74: Detroit - "DANCE RIGHT ON THROUGH THE NIGHT" 2CD (unique SEBTP show w/singing of Jerusalem Boogie)
-26/9/81: Spain ("Me and Virgil") 2CD
-13/12/97: RTL Studios 1CD (great quality early CAS radio show)
-9/4/72: Lem Club 1CD (upgrade to my version, with more songs)
-Congo Limited Edition Single (w/interactive materials and a video)

NEW TRADES:
-Los Cage, LA 1984 (a one-disc radio show from Mama tour)
-Roma 1982 (two disc seemingly complete audience show from 3SL tour)
-Voices in the Academy 1974 (SEBTP show, penultimate show of the tour, at the NY Academy of Music)

I'm not sure when all these will arrive; if I'm lucky, I should get a good deal of them by next weekend. I may have one more trade in the works which will net me 5 additional shows, but I'm not sure as the guy refuses to email me. (I'm sorry, but it really bugs me when people don't check their email for over one day--I'm a compulsive email-checker, and I irrationally can't understand why everyone else isn't like me.) However, I don't intend to do many more trades or burns in the immediate future, besides the ones that I already have on my plate. I have to take a break because I am getting married on July 20 and then going on a honeymoon to England (the homeland of Genesis!). Then early August I may be going to someone else's wedding in New Mexico (which, for all of you who are not geography nuts, is a long way from my homeland of New Jersey). Also as you can see I'm going to have a whole lot of new shows to digest in the near future. Don't worry though: I shall return. I'm sure to do some more news posts before I close the shop, and I should get back into the saddle either early or late August.

5 July, 2002 - I've transferred and put on my site the 2 tapes I got--they were a recording of the Cape Canaveral radio show and a version of the Lyceum 7 May '80 broadcast (both 1st generation tapes). Also add to my list of boots on the way: the Congo limited edition single CD (it's a copy of it, but it should contain all the interactive stuff/videos, etc.) and an upgrade for my Lem Club show of 9 April '72 which should have more songs and hopefully will sound better! I also intend to make a new version of Musica out of the two Lyceum sources that I have, plus an mp3 of the missing "Say It's Alright Joe" from that performance, so I should have a good sounding full show from 7 May (although still without the song intros). Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to get any boots this weekend, but there's a good chance of seeing some next week. One last note: the RTL studios show of 13 December '97 is actually only a one disc show--I have it labeled as 2 discs on 27 June, but this is incorrect.

1 July, 2002 - I have received all of the stuff in the first section of my post of 27 June. It is all up now except the two cassette tapes that I have to transfer--I haven't gotten around to that yet. It turns out I don't have the IT tour video, but I have a butt-load of other video clips that more than make up for it. It's great stuff, and I haven't gotten a chance to watch it all yet, but I will. Because of all of that new video, I have added a new section to my bootleg pages, separating the bootleg video that I have onto a new page. The official videos that I bought myself are still in the compilations section. One bit of unfortunate news--it looks as if the audio tape of Lyceum is very, very incomplete compared to my copy, so it's really not much of an upgrade. Still, it may sound better and I may do a spliced-together version. We'll see. I've gotten rid of some spare discs and I am currently trying to weed out some copies of my VCD. (BTW, I may have mentioned that I was going to try to separate the audio track from the VCD and burn an audio CD of the songs, but unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to do that--I lack the technical knowledge/skill.)

28 June, 2002 - A lot of the stuff on the first half of my list of 27 June may have arrived, and I may pick it up tomorrow. Also, I'm looking to receive these additional shows in the near future:
-Awed Man Out, 15/4/75 - yes another Empire Pool bootleg, but this one may have slightly slightly more stuff than my other ones.
-Triangle on Domino, 8/6/87 - a radio show from the IT tour; should sound pretty great.
-Friar's Club, 22/3/80 - very, very thrilled about getting this one, as it should finally give me the opportunity to hear Phil murder "Back in NYC;" also has a rare "Knife" encore.

27 June, 2002 - Here is a revised list of what I'm looking to receive:
-Belgian TV VCD
-Seven Stones in Genoa 22/8/72
-Violent Dreams 18/11/72 (early live "Supper")
-Forest Hills 22/8/82
-Hogweed 05 (10/1/75 Florida Lamb show)
-Uptown Theatre (just IKWIL, to replace my bad version of that song)
-Cape Canaveral album launch, 28/8/97 (with interviews; I'm transferring from a good audio tape)
-Lyceum 1980 Musica show (transferred from audio tape again, but probably an upgrade from my copy)
-Seconds Out 1977 promo video, Midnight Special video, Bataclan video, IT tour video, Mama tour video, Lyceum 1980 tour video!!!

-Melody of 1976 (11/6/76, from radio show)
-Steam of the Medley (Omaha, 3/2/84)
-Knebworth '90 (a short performance Genesis did between tours for charity concert)
-Perpetual Soundwave (from 3SL/FIABA show, not as complete but should be an upgrade in sound quality)
-15/4/72: Lugo di Ravenna 1CD
-28/9/72: Dublin 1CD
-15/1/73: Germany 1CD
-16/4/74: Detroit - "DANCE RIGHT ON THROUGH THE NIGHT" 2CD
-26/9/81: Spain ("Me and Virgil") 2CD
-13/12/97: RTL Studios 2CD

All this stuff is headed my way, or will be. The things I have the best chance of receiving soon are listed first. Starting with "Melody of 1976," they are all a good way off. I'm getting lots of video in the mail, as you can see, and that should come fairly soon, possibly as early as this weekend. In addition to all this stuff, I am giving away bootlegs on the official site's forum (in the bootleg section). I have also confirmed the existence of a "Harold the Barrel" played live in 1972, and I have added it to my bootleg The Coastliners, and changed some of my lists accordingly.

23 June, 2002 - Yesterday I actually received my Earls Court 77 show, to my surprise. It is now up on my lists. That is all...

21 June, 2002 - I responded at the right time and will now receive a VCD of the Belgian TV clip. I already have it on VHS, but it looks horrible. Hopefully this version will be cleaner--it at least shouldn't be as shaky as mine is. I also have plans once I receive it to extract its audio track and burn that as an audio CD, so I have it in that form as well. I'm not sure if this is actually possible, but I'm going to try. I'm not familiar with the VCD format. This is also a weed, so I'm going to weed it out again once I get it. I may do it at the official Genesis site instead of at the genesis-trades group, because it seems pretty heavily saturated on the genesis-trades group. We'll see. I also still have a bunch of extra/misfit discs here, and I'm still trying to decide when/which ones to give out. Updates on that later. I don't think I'll be seeing any of the things I'm waiting for in the mail until a good week from now.

20 June, 2002 - OK, those three shows listed on 18 June (the first three) are now up on my list pages. I've also done various updates to my objective lists and such, regarding mostly "Harold the Barrel," as I've found some evidence that it was played in a tour I didn't think it was played during. Also I have another trade in the works which will hopefully net me: Hogweed 05 (an upgrade for a Lamb show I already have) and a better version of IKWIL from the Uptown Theatre show of '78 (mine has clicks in it). So I now have not one but two versions of "Ballad of Big" live, and I've listened to them both! Ha!

18 June, 2002 - More trading news. I am sending out feelers for trades that will shave down my enormous wish list. I also have news on the CDs I am STILL WAITING ON; it turns out things are looking even worse than I thought. I'll give you a list again of all the boots I am expecting:

-Show It Again Peter (ATTW3 show with Pete singing the encore and a rare version of "Ballad of Big")
-Live in Arnheim (another ATTW3 show with "Ballad of Big")
-Live in Pavia 14/4/72 (NC show with "Bye Bye Johnny")
These three first of all, have already arrived (thank god). I am going to hopefully, hopefully pick them up tomorrow night, and then will get to work popping them up on the site.

-Seven Stones in Genoa
-Violent Dreams 18/11/72 (early live "Supper")
-Forest Hills 22/8/82 (featuring the very rare live "Paperlate" and "No Reply" on Phenix Horns)
-Earls Court 77 (WW show, "Inside and Out" plus "The Knife")
These are all very, very late in being shipped. I had thought that the Earls Court show had been mailed out last week, but it turns out that it was not mailed out until LAST NIGHT, which means it will be at least another week before I see it (this is particularly frustrating in that I handled my side of the deal by 29 May, which was quite a while ago!!). It also turns out that my trader for the other three shows in this group forgot to burn them for me, and still hasn't done it! So I have no idea how long I'll be waiting for those.

As for all the boots/videos I listed on 14 June, those are also going to be a long time coming, as the guy I'm trading with there still has to install his CD burner and has never used one before. They are once again:
-Seconds Out 1977 promo video
-Midnight Special Video with Pete in make-up on at least "Watcher" and "Musical Box"
-Mama tour video
-Lyceum 1980 tour video
-Melody of 1976 (11/6/76, from radio show)
-Steam of the Medley (Omaha, 3/2/84)
-Knebworth '90 (a short performance Genesis did between tours for charity concert)
-Cape Canaveral album launch, 28/8/97 (with interviews; I'm transferring from a good audio tape)
-Perpetual Soundwave (from 3SL/FIABA show, not as complete but should be an upgrade in sound quality)
-Lyceum 1980 Musica show (transferred from audio tape again, but probably an upgrade from my copy)
All this waiting is very frustrating and almost makes me want to start trading .shn shows instead. But it's all part of the "business," you might say, and everyone has a good reason, so...

On another note, I have developed a new trade with someone from Israel! Here is hopefully what I'll get from him:
- 15/4/72: Lugo di Ravenna 1CD
- 28/9/72: Dublin 1CD
- 15/1/73: Germany 1CD
- 16/4/74: Detroit - "DANCE RIGHT ON THROUGH THE NIGHT" 2CD
- 26/9/81: Spain ("Me and Virgil") 2CD
- 13/12/97: RTL Studios 2CD
This clears out a lot of the ones from the Pete years that are listed on my wish list! If this trade goes through I'll have a lot of goooood boots. I can't wait!! But I have to wait, a lot. Oh, woe...

On one last note, I am STILL waiting on an email (!) from someone who is supposed to be testing some discs I sent him. If the discs work, then I can send the doubles I have made here out to some lucky fan; if they don't work, I'm going to have to send these doubles to him in the hopes that he'll be able to use them in his player instead. It's been weeks since I've heard from him; you'd think he'd WANT to figure out about the discs, right? I just don't know...Well, that's it. Maybe I'll be in a better mood for my next news entry!

16 June, 2002 - Sadly, it doesn't look as if I'm going to be able to pick up the three bootlegs that I know have arrived for me at my parents' house. I am very sad. I may have to wait all the way until next weekend before I can listen to my first live versions of "Ballad of Big." Sigh...However, I have done various updates to my boot pages, fixed a bunch of tiny hiccups that existed in some of my shows, and also spruced a few of them up by eliminating split second pauses and upping their volume level. Also, my album covers for bootlegs are now being hosted by Christian Roth, and I have links to these covers and his nice boot list on my various boot list pages. Sorry about the delay in new music...I have a pile of kind of misfit/reject boot discs here that I intend to give away to anyone who wants them (as long as they're in the US), but I'm still waiting to make sure that a previous trade is kaput. Alright, I have to go and do some burning right now. Later.

14 June, 2002 - Various updates to my boot pages have been made, to make my info more reliable. I also now have details on that new trade I'm doing, which should eventually net me the following:
I may not receive the audio shows for a while, but should get the videos fairly soon. In addition to plugging in those three shows mentioned in the 12 June post this weekend, I also plan on repairing various hiccups in my existing shows, since I've realized I can very easily do it. I'm waiting on an email from someone before I give out those spare shows I mentioned in the 12 June post.

12 June, 2002 - Hello there. The last three boots in my list below (8 June) have arrived at my old house, and I'll be picking them up this weekend. I have made a few corrections to various sections of my lists, the objective and the set list. Of the other four shows on the list of 8 June, it's possible I could see all of them by this weekend, though I doubt that I'll be seeing the Earls Court show until next week. I may give away some spare CDs to people soon, but I probably won't use a contest to do it; I'll just leave a message on the genesis-trades list or on the official site discussion forum.

8 June, 2002 - All my new boots are up, with comments. I have also made a more specific wish list, which like everything else in this site is incredibly long. Additionally, some small updates have been made to the list pages, mostly in the area of which songs I now have on bootleg, and I have expanded my list of good traders in the sources section. Also a while back I added a bit more information to the "Duck" mystery on my Mysteries page. I am still waiting on the following shows, some of which I may see today, though I have some doubts:
-Seven Stones in Genoa
-Violent Dreams 18/11/72 (early live "Supper")
-Forest Hills 22/8/82 (featuring the very rare live "Paperlate" and "No Reply" on Phenix Horns, plus my first live version of "Who Dunnit?")
-Earls Court 77 (WW show from near the end of the tour that should have "Inside and Out" plus "The Knife")
In addition to this, I am negotiating a new trade; more details on that to come, once I settle them. I was going to slow down on my trading, but if people contact me, how can I refuse? ; )

5 June, 2002 - I've finally gotten the opportunity, and the new boots from the Pete years have been put up with some preliminary comments. I need to put up the cover thumbnails for the Hogweeds and FAde shows, and do the Phil and Ray shows, which I may be able to do soon. I'm also working on updating my wish list and making it more specific. It may be that I won't see the other shows on my list for a little while yet, as they were later than I thought in getting sent out.

2 June, 2002 - I have received the first TEN bootlegs on my list of 28 May, namely: A Living Story (which is actually one disc, but does in fact have that same stuff from the Shrine Auditorium show), Another Reggio Emilia, FAde 001, Lamb Outtakes, Wembley 4/7, Selling England by the Session, Touch to Supper's Ready (which is the LA Forum 17/10/86 show), Katowice Poland '98, Reading Festival '72 (Hogweed 03), Earls Court '98. I have also managed to acquire fairly good quality copies of all the extant BBC Sessions tracks, and have compiled my own chronological bootleg of them, which will be added to my list. Unfortunately I have to be doing other things today and probably the next couple of days, so I may not get to putting these up for some time (especially since there are a lot of them). But they are here and they are ready to be traded to anyone who wants them. I'll get them posted up on my lists as soon as possible. I may have the seven remaining shows on my list of 28 May by next weekend. Hopefully by then I'll have made some progress on these. We'll see.

28 May, 2002 - I've been gone for a while according to the time between these two news entries (a week is a long time for me it seems), but I have not been idle. First of all it's come to my attention that some people are having trouble getting to my bootleg pages. This is probably because they are getting awfully long. To try to cut down on loading time and prevent crashes, I have removed a lot of the images from these pages (the pictures which were in place of hypothetical album covers, which I've realized now that I will probably never get to making). Hopefully it shouldn't be as bad getting to them anymore. If I continue to get complaints I may reorganize the pages and break them up by tour (or at least into smaller pages).

The contest has set me up with quite a few good trades, plus I'm waiting on some trades I had before the contest. I also received both Abacab Complete and my re-send of Twilight Francehouse. Unfortunately, Twilight Francehouse sounds no better--I guess it's just really poor quality. Abacab Complete is the exact opposite end of the scale in quality however, and an interesting look at the "ideal" version of the album. Anyways, they're both up on my lists. Here are all the discs headed my way, listed in the order I think they'll appear (ones that will take the longest are listed last):

-A Living Story (2/1/77--a few tracks from the radio show, plus another disc with stuff from the Shrine Auditorium '75 show which I already have)
-Another Reggio Emilia (still waiting on this one and the next two as they're coming from overseas; this one has Harold the Barrel)
-FAde 001 (Lamb show with Knife encore)
-Lamb Outtakes
-Wembley 4/7/87 (maybe better quality than the one I have, plus it has the "In the Cage" medley)
-Selling England by the Session
-LA Forum 17/10/86 (that date may be off, however this is a good early IT show with the "Apocalypse" medley)
-Katowice, Poland '98 (early CAS show with lots of live versions of album cuts that I have yet to hear)
-Reading Festival (HW 03) (interesting short set from the Pete years, remastered by the Hogweed folks)
-Earls Court 98 (another CAS show, this one with more in between stuff)
-Seven Stones in Genoa (that's right, a live version of Seven Stones--already have it, but this includes the rest of the show)
-Violent Dreams 18/11/72 (early live "Supper")
-Forest Hills 22/8/82 (featuring the very rare live "Paperlate" and "No Reply" on Phenix Horns, plus my first live version of "Who Dunnit?")
-Earls Court 77 (WW show from near the end of the tour that should have "Inside and Out" plus "The Knife")

So plenty for me (and you) to look forward to. I'm probably going to try to cut down a little on the trading after these come in, and you may not see as many updates on the site. But I am still open to solicitations and I will of course get these new shows up on my site as quickly as possible.

22 May, 2002 - The contest is now OVER; thanks to all who participated!! It was very difficult choosing the winners and I ended up with probably more than is feasible. Apologies to all who didn't make the runners-up category, believe me I found all the entries humorous and creative. The winners are being notified and I'll be getting out the prizes as quickly as possible. Look on my contest page for the winning entries and for more info about where to look for the next contest (I don't know how long it will be until the next one; possibly a while, though). Also I've picked up a few new possible trades; details on that as they develop. I believe that my Abacab Complete and Twilight Francehouse have now arrived, and I'll be picking them up this weekend.

20 May, 2002 - The big news here is that I have finally put up my first contest for free bootlegs, which can be reached by clicking on the contest button above. The winner gets any three bootlegs from my list, which can be reached by clicking on the bootlegs button above. I will also choose some runners-up, who can each choose any one bootleg from my list. All you have to do to enter is email me a funny caption to go with the picture on the contest page (details on the page). In addition to all the bootlegs on my main list, I am also waiting for the following shows, which I should hopefully have by the weekend:
Another Reggio Emilia (SEBTP show with live Harold the Barrel)
Lamb Outtakes
FAde 001 (a high quality Lamb show)
Abacab Complete (an earlier version of that album with different track ordering, different mix, and some b-sides)
Twilight Francehouse (a re-send for me; I already have a copy, but it is damaged)
To those here for the contest, and anyone visiting the site for the first time, welcome! I hope you'll find time to peruse these pages and find something to enjoy...

19 May, 2002 - The site is back up after some down time brought to you by Geocities. My Gusman and Boston shows of the SEBTP tour have been put up with comments, and all comments for new boots are in place (aside from maybe some minor tweaking which could come after later listens). I have received The Lamb Lies Down on Dusseldorf, and will put it up soon. Very soon I may start a contest for free bootlegs. Also, big event, my list of all Genesis set lists that I could come up with is now as complete as it may ever be. I may need to change or fill in some lists here and there, but every tour is represented by what I think is quite accurate information. That's about all for now...

16 May, 2002 - I got the Gusman show (Coral Gables) and the Boston show, and put them up onto the site here. All I have to do now is listen to the whole shows (!). Then I will provide comments. I'm still slowly adding details to the comments of all my recent boot entries. This is probably my last news entry before the shutdown time (info about that directly above). When I come back up, I may be able to put up a couple more shows. We'll see what comes in the mail. Most likely if I get anything it will be Abacab Complete, Francehouse and/or The Lamb on Dusseldorf.

15 May, 2002 - OK, all the boots are up on the site. I'll be randomly adding little details about them to the comments portions as I give them a closer listen. I should be getting Gusman 74 and another bonus SEBTP show from Boston tonight. I'm going to hold true to my promise about doing the contest, but I want to wait until this downtime from Geocities is over. Look for the contest during the week of May 20. Really. I mean it this time.

14 May, 2002 - I have now updated the Pete era boot list and my entire short list to reflect the new boots I have received (you'll notice if you've been paying close attention that a new huge Lamb show slipped its way in there; it's the non-specific one I'd been waiting for). I hope to have the Phil era updated soon. I intend to re-burn a couple of my Pete discs to get more satisfactory tracking out of them; it won't add an entry to my lists, but I'll have some shows better organized. Boots on the way:
The Lamb Lies Down on Dusseldorf
Twilight Francehouse (STILL waiting on the re-send, but it will hopefully be here by the weekend, along with:)
Abacab Complete
Gusman 74 (another SEBTP show; supposed to have different stories than usual)
Another Reggio Emilia (an SEBTP show with another live version of Harold the Barrel)
Lamb Outtakes (somewhat different than the ones I already have, I think)
FAde 001 (another Lamb show, this one with a rare encore of "The Knife")
I honestly hope they don't get here soon, because I want to be able to sleep a little bit. Which I think is what I'm going to go do now...

12 May, 2002 - I received quite a few of the bootlegs on the list below yesterday; in fact, I now have all of those listed except the first two (something or other is holding them up, not sure what). I will also be getting The Lamb Lies Down on Dusseldorf, a complete show from the Lamb tour; and a Selling England tour from 74 (Guzman or Gusman is the venue) that is supposed to have some nice intros. I may also receive something called Abacab Complete, which is a very nearly finished version of the album Abacab, but including some of the b-sides, with slightly different mixes and an altered track list. It sounds really interesting and I'd love to get it. I may also be finalizing another trade which will get me three more shows; not sure about it yet, though, so I won't go into details. Needless to say it's going to take me a while to get all these shows up on the site, but they are here and ready to be copied and they are listed below for the time being. Look for them in my boot lists soon...

7 May, 2002 - Here is an updated look at all of the bootlegs headed my way, some of which will hopefully arrive within the next week (some should arrive by tomorrow, but I won't be able to pick any of them up until the weekend--it's a long story...):
- Twilight Francehouse, 7/3/71 - earliest extant audience bootleg (I already have this one, but I'm hoping this re-send will sound better than mine)
- A Lamb Show - I don't know exactly what date it is yet, but I am led to understand it is a good quality full show
- Izakaya, 28/11/78 - a Japanese show from the end of the ATTW3 tour (Japanese shows make good audience bootlegs, because the audience is very quiet)

The boots above I have been waiting for for about a week now. These next four I've just settled the trade for, so I won't be seeing them for a little while.
- Cryme Outtakes - various studio takes of NC and Foxtrot songs, plus Happy the Man, Only Your Love, and Silver Song
- The Coastliners, 20/8/72 - a two disc set featuring the matinee and evening shows from that date, with two early versions of Can-Utility (NC tour)
- Chicago '77, 16/2/77 - a much-bootlegged radio show from the WW tour, should be my best quality show from this tour yet
- Marquee '82, 27/9/82 - a complete (or nearly complete) audience show from the 3SL tour, featuring "Supper's Ready" (this is the last tour they would play the full version of this song, not counting the reunion gig, which was only a couple days away from this show)

The following boots are all from the same (great) guy, and have all been transferred from tape (except the odd track which may have been pulled off the internet...); they include short track lists as well, and where I thought his dates were incorrect, I have corrected them:
- BBC Sessions, 71-72 - Watcher/Harold/Harlequin/Hogweed/Salmacis/Box/Stagnation/Friday/Alehouse/Watcher/Box
- Watford Technical College, 4/3/72 - Harlequin/Stagnation/Salmacis/Alehouse/Box/Hogweed/Knife (my first live Harlequin!!)
- Pop Shop (Belgian TV), 20-21/3/72 - Salmacis/Alehouse/Box/Hogweed (I already have this on video, but now I will have it on CD as well)
- Watford Town Hall, 28/6/72 - Watcher/Stagnation/Salmacis/Happy/Alehouse/Box/Hogweed/Knife (very early version of Watcher!!)
- Rainbow Theatre, London, 9/2/73 - Watcher/Friday/Supper/Hogweed/Knife (this is not the same show that was on the box set; it's from the Foxtrot tour)
- A Death in Anytown (Felt Forum, NYC), 23/11/73 - Watcher/Firth/Box/Moonlit/Cinema/IKWIL/Supper/Horizons/MoreFool/Epping/Knife (a nice full show from the SEBTP tour, featuring More Fool Me, Horizons, and The Knife, all of them tracks you don't always get on these boots)
- Drury Lane, London, 20/1/74 - Watcher/Moonlit/Cinema/IKWIL/Firth/Harold/Box/Horizons/MoreFool/Epping/Supper (a very rare live version of Harold the Barrel!! Very excited about this one)
- Providence, RI, 8/12/74 - A full Lamb show (or nearly full), this one is the same show I already have ("Palace Theatre"), but it includes the encore of "Musical Box," which my version does not. I'm also hoping it will sound better than mine in general
- Earl's Court (Living Revelations), 24/6/77 - Vine/Inside and Out/Firth/Volcano/LosEndos/LambLiesDown/Box/Knife (an incomplete version of this radio show, but it should be great quality and it does include the very rarely played "Knife" from this tour, not to mention Inside and Out)
- In a later shipment from the same person, I hope to receive a replacement for the damaged version of "Musical Box" from my Marquee Club show of September 72.

As you can see, a heck of a lot of bootlegs, and I'm excited about every one of them. I will post them onto my lists as I get them. I'm also going to make a solid promise right now that I hope to stick by: once I get the first three boots on this list and put them onto my site, I will run my first contest; the winners may choose any bootleg on my site, INCLUDING the ones that are still on their way. I don't expect to get those three boots until this weekend, so the earliest you will probably see the contest is 13 May. But I promise to do it once I get those three up. Hopefully the Geocities down time will not interfere too much with the contest...bad timing, that...

5 May, 2002 - It's been a little while since I added news here, and no new boots have arrived. But I have been doing some changes on the site. For instance, I just changed the scoring ranges on the Picture Caption Personality Test, as I found that no matter who took the test, they always ended up scoring the Peter Gabriel personality (!). Probably if you take it now you won't get Pete (it will probably be stuck between Phil and Steve now). I have also been updating my set lists page; it now has all the tours up to and including Duke. Due to certain circumstances I will have a tad more time to work on this site soon, so I may be able to finally put up and manage the contest. I've been holding off in the hopes of finding a time when no new boots were on their way to me. But as that seems like a very unlikely eventuality at this point, I'll just have to break down and do it one of these days. I'm still waiting on Twilight Francehouse, a Lamb Show, and the Izakaya show from the end of the 1978 tour; most of those should come some time this week. I should also be getting quite a few boots from someone who has just transferred them onto CDs from tapes, and four boots from various points in the band's history from another trader who I've worked with very satisfactorily once before. More info on these to follow...

29 April, 2002 - Made various little updates to my boot pages, my sources page, the mysteries page, and I added the set lists list at least as far as the Pete era. I also did receive the Hogweed show from Toledo, Ohio, 1974, and I'll be putting that up very soon. I'm waiting on Twilight Francehouse, an undisclosed Lamb show, and I will be receiving a 1978 show played in Japan (Izakaya?).

26 April, 2002 - Got some more great boots today! These are ones that I promised were on their way a whole month ago, but it's taken some time to get them because of my evil, evil postal service. Anyways, they are:
Musical Fox - 16 January 1972, Belgium - This the earliest existing boot of the Nursery Cryme tour, besides maybe one BBC session thing.
Cleveland 76 - 15 April 1976, Cleveland Music Hall - A few days after the FAde Syria Mosque show, this is another fantastic sounding radio broadcast. An interesting part of this recording: during "Supper's Ready" a different tape is played in place of the "we will rock you little snake" one.
Munich 77 - 3 July 1977, Olympiahalle, Munich - The last show of the WW tour, and the last concert with Hackett. Features a rare playing of the b-side, "Inside and Out." This one is an audience recording, but a much better one than my other show from the WW tour.
As always, I'll be getting them up onto my short and long lists ASAP. Another show I should receive this weekend (meaning tomorrow): 6 April 1974 at Toledo, Ohio, a Hogweed release which I had been thinking was a Lamb show but which is actually from the SEBTP tour. Then I should actually be getting a Lamb show, and a re-send of Twilight Francehouse. Once I receive and plug in all these boots, I will feel that I have a nice enough spread of recordings to offer for my first contest on this site, which I have been shamefully promising will happen at any moment for a good couple of months.

23 April, 2002 - Well, my four boots from Italy came in yesterday! Fortunately, THESE all work fine! I'm in the process of putting them into my long list with comments; they are already in my short list. There's some interesting dating and venue questions on these, but the quality on all of them is generally very good--some of my best-sounding material from the Lamb tour yet. "Lamb Stew" and "Musical Box" are both generally from the Empire Pool show of April 1975, but their tracking is quite different and the sound is slightly different. FIABA is actually the same show from which Three Sides Live was taken, and A New Beginning is actually another version of a show I already have (a lesson to all you traders out there: before you pick a boot, make sure you don't already have it!!). Anyway, I'll leave the real specifics for the boot pages...

21 April, 2002 - Bad news everyone! Of the three shows I've got yesterday, only one of them is (I feel) good enough to become part of my collection. Lakeland Lamb was missing tracks that it seemingly shouldn't have been missing, and Twilight Francehouse and Lakeland both have very similar crackles on them that leads me to believe that there may be a problem with the burner that copied them for me. I may get re-sent versions of both, but I definitely hope to get a better Lakeland show. Not so sure about Francehouse; if I don't receive a resent version of it, I will put up the version I have, but as I said, I think that some of its low quality may be due to the copying process and not due to any actual flaws of the "source" recording. The FAde show, however, sounds quite awesome, and I've put it up in the appropriate section on my list.

18 April, 2002 - Good news everyone! After my last news flash of about 2 AM, it is now 9 PM on the same day and I have received the following:
FAde 02 (Syria Mosque, 1976 remastered show)
Twilight Francehouse (3/7/71, the earliest audience bootleg extant! very excited about this one, even though I know it's poor quality)
Lakeland Lamb (a full Lamb performance)
The original bunch I was supposed to receive actually included four other shows, but it was so long between the initial agreement and my receiving them that the guy I was swapping with just forgot about them (and understandably so). He may send those to me at a later date. Also in the next few days I am almost guaranteed to receive the following:
Lamb Stew
Musical Box
FIABA
A New Beginning
The first two boots are various songs from two different incomplete Lamb shows. FIABA is the Nasau Coliseum show from the Abacab tour. A New Beginning is a truncated CAS set. I'll be providing much more info on these as I receive them/listen to them/catalogue them, but I just wanted anybody who may be out there listening to know that I do have these to trade/give to those who want. I have also gotten another video boot, and added it to the Compilations section (under "Video"). It's a more complete, better quality version of the Shepperton Studios 1973 SEBTP movie that I also have on my other video boot. So there you go! As I constantly keep promising, once I get this round of boots put in on my site, I will hold my first ever contest wherein the winner and runners up will receive any bootleg of their choice from my collection, free of charge...I will notify fans of this contest on the official site forum and the genesis-trades mailing list, when it starts...

18 April, 2002 - I now have a video bootleg. You can find it in the Compilations/Miscellaneous section. It's not great quality, and I don't yet know how to copy a VHS tape, but I intend to find out soon. I am hoping very very much to receive a big package of boots in the mail tomorrow (the first time they were sent they got lost in the mail--I hope to God this re-shipment makes it).

9 April, 2002 - Well, I've just surprised myself by starting and finishing the objective list detailing all the different line-ups of Genesis. Only one list left, but it's the hardest (set lists for all the tours!!), so it will probably be some time before that goes up.

8 April, 2002 - I have added the Medleys list to the objective lists page. (I also just tacked on an additional objective list: songs from the Pete years played by the Phil-era band.) That page is now no longer a pop-up window. I also updated the sort of "table of contents" at the top of the 76-92 and 96-? sections of the bootleg area, and converted the separate buttons into an image map; there shouldn't be any noticeable difference in navigation, but it makes it easier for me to update that part of the page. I also updated my wish list to accomodate some wishes that I formulated while making some of those objective lists. Any day now I'm going to get a nice big package of boots, and as soon as I get them put onto the site, I will run my first contest on the contest page. I hope to be able to work some on the band formation list before that happens...

7 April, 2002 - My head has not exploded, and I have seen The Musical Box (and I want to see them again, right now!). I have updated my short list and my longer lists to accomodate the three new bootlegs, but I have yet to insert their buttons into the longer pages, so you have to scroll down to get to them. I hope to remedy that soon. That's about it for now...

4 April, 2002 - I'm back. I haven't updated the website too much in a while, but I have not been idle. I put in some more of the objective lists today, and I'm working hard on those. I have yet to receive my big package of boots, but I should get those by early next week. I also received in the mail today a package of boots that I had kind of forgotten about--and they're great! I have an excellent quality Wembley Stadium show from the IT tour, the "full" version of the Spectrum show of 27/11/83 (not the complete gig, but as much of it as is around) and a bonus--a CAS show from Birmingham, 25/2/98! I haven't even listened to the last two shows yet. I will try to get them up on the boot page along with my complete 78 Rehearsal show and my complete Knebworth show ASAP; I've been doing heavy research for these objective lists and it takes up a lot of my free time. I'm also trying to plan a wedding, go to a concert, celebrate my wife-to-be's birthday, and go to work. We'll see if my head explodes or not...

25 March, 2002 - Made various small updates today, including some re-ordering of the captions in the Personality Test, so the scoring has changed there. I received my Knebworth show today, and it sounds great. I'll be uploading the info on it to my pages ASAP. Still waiting on the rest. The Contest page is made and ready to go, but I probably won't upload it or start it for another week or so, because I want these bootlegs to get here. Going to see The Musical Box in Philly on April 5; woohoo! My first (psuedo-) Genesis concert!

24 March, 2002 - The Picture Caption Personality Test pages are now up! I also added an additional Goodie that I had forgotten about to the list of goodies. I have to do lots of CD burning now. I may put up a Contest some time next week. Once I've done a Contest, the only thing I will have left to do on this website (short of updating my list of bootlegs as they come in) will be the objective lists in the Lists section. I've been holding off on those because they will require a lot of research and I want them to be as correct as possible. When I'm done I hope they'll be a good place to go for reference to accurate, detailed information about Genesis tracks. Keep checking for updates...

21 March, 2002 - I am now a member of the Genesis WebRing. I've added the Mysteries page onto the site. Next I plan on doing the Picture Caption Personality Test. Then I may do a Contest. I have a lot of burning to do in the near future, but I'll try to get as much updated/uploaded as possible. I received a more complete version of the Rehearsals 1978 bootleg, but the first disc has errors on it and I'm hoping to get it replaced. Until I do, I won't post it in my Bootlegs section. Other bootlegs on the way:
Twilight Francehouse (7/3/71)
Musical Fox (72)
Lakeland Lamb (75)
Cleveland Music Hall (15/4/76)
Syria Mosque (the FAde project, from 76)
Munich (3/7/77)
Knebworth (24/6/78, a more complete version than the one I have)
Live After Dividing (98)

17 March, 2002 - I'm done transferring all of my batch of tapes, and all of them have been updated onto the site, including one new compilation disc which I named It's Scrambled Eggs. It has various tracks crossing their whole history, plus a few solo member rarities. Some good stuff. I also finally added the Goodies page, which has some high res Genesis art work, my own insert for the WWW DVD, and some nice desktop images. If I'm feeling particularly free and ready to burn CDs, I may hold a contest on my Contest page soon...If I do, I will post its existence on the official site board and the genesis-trades group.

14 March, 2002 - I've just transferred the first disc of Musica. It sounds pretty great. I've also added the Links and Sources pages to the Lists section, which nearly puts me at halfway through the completion of this site! I have a trade in the works that will hopefully get me a more complete version of the 1978 Tour Rehearsal boot, and I hope to be getting a small treasure trove from another fan, within the next couple of weeks. It should be about 5 or 6 boots covering a whole range of years. Good stuff...

13 March, 2002 - Well, it's hard work transferring tapes to CD, especially when you have a job, and you want to sleep for at least five hours every night; but I've gotten past halfway, and have uploaded most of the track lists onto my boot pages, along with some preliminary comments that I may add to later. I also did some fiddling with my Lists page and changed some information for the Live in Montreal boot. I also added this new bit of news! My site has been suggested on the Yahoo! and Google search engines, and may actually come up on there some day. I've also added it to the list on the official Genesis website, and may some day get myself into the Genesis Web Ring. In about a month I should receive a nice quality show from the Trick of the Tail tour; the Syria Mosque show put together by the "Fade" project. I'm excited about this one. Well, I'd be excited about any new bootleg, but this one sounds really good. Thanks to Brett for offering me a free copy, and once I get it, it will be available from me to those of you who are starting out (like me) or who want to make a nice trade for it. Anyway, I've also added the "Short List" to my main bootleg page, so it's easier to get a quick idea of what I have if you're browsing. Unfortunately, my compilations are so eclectic that it's not feasible to make a short list of them, so if you want to check out what I have in that area you'll still have to open the compilations page. If you want to trade, let me know! Links to my email are all over the place--there's even one at the bottom of this page!

3 March, 2002 - Blue Snaggletooth has just received a big shipment of tape bootlegs from a generous FoG. Over the next few weeks, he will be working hard to process these tapes (ie, transferring them to CD, which involves recording them onto the computer, tracking them correctly, normalizing the sound levels, then burning them onto discs) and create stunning CD inserts for them all. However, Blue Snaggletooth has other things to do, so it may take some time before he gets all the way through the process. Hopefully he should have the track lists and entries for most of these up on the Bootlegs section of the site by the end of the week of 4 March.

Also, Blue Snaggletooth has just upgraded his website, so the site should now be ad free! There is also more web space available for him to fill up, so this will give him the opportunity to provide more Goodies, if he ever gets around to building the Goodies page...
